Ruby & (more) Friends

A year and a half ago, Ruby Gallery saw the light of day. And, also, the light. Our first exhibition was called Ruby & Friends, and it was, in effect, devoted to our friends. On the one hand, because we missed them – f*#$ you, Covid! On the other hand, those friendships often sprang not only from a genuine love of their personality but also an extraordinary appreciation of their work.

So it felt really good to introduce Ruby to them. It felt right. To such an extent, in fact, we have since showcased almost exclusively artists who not only create amazing work but have also become really good friends over the years. Quirky and contemporary, but equally generous artists with whom we feel a real connection. And of whom we can say without hesitation that they truly are da shit. (Pardon our French.)

Barely eighteen months after the first Ruby & Friends, the sequel has arrived. With new work by ‘old’ friends like Bieke Buckinx, Ralf Kokke, Heidi Ukkonen, and Wasted Rita, who made a limited zine exclusively for Ruby. But also with a host of exceptional artists making their first appearance at Boulevard de Dixmude: Joris Bochman, Ilke Cop, Merel Jansen, Luis-Manuel Lambrechts, Clara-Lane Lens, Kristof Van Heeschvelde and Sara Plantefève-Castryck, who introduces ceramics at Ruby.

We are happy to welcome you to the opening of the exhibition on March 24 at 18h. The exhibition Ruby & (more) Friends runs from March 24 to April 30 at Ruby Gallery.
